Tyrconnell Single Malt Irish Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Aromas of roasted nuts, nougat, and mild oak.

Palate: Exceptionally soft, round palate entry fans out into flavours of sweet dried fruits, cinnamon and clove.

Finish: Perfect balance, finishing a little short, followed by a progressively drying aftertaste of vanilla wafer biscuit, caramel and honeycombe.

Distillery Information

The Tyrconnell Distillery was originally owned by the Watt family in Ireland, dating all the way back to 1762. In 1876, the family entered a horse — a chestnut colt — in the classic Irish horse race called “The National Produce Stakes.” No one thought that the young horse would win, and the bookmakers took action at 100-to-1 odds. Well, the little horse won, and that horse’s name was Tyrconnell.
