The BenRiach Four Cask Maturation 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

BenRiach have long been a distillery to keep your eye out for if you're interested in whiskies with inventive maturation periods, and here's a perfect example! This 21 year old has been drawn from a mixture of four casks - bourbon barrels, virgin oak casks, Pedro Ximenéz Sherry casks and red wine casks. Master blender has carefully balanced the characters of these powerfully flavoured casks to create an richly flavoured whisky that adds layers of complexity to Benriach's fruity spirit.

The BenRiach Four Cask Maturation 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Spiced fruit punch, with a touch of warming oak in the background. A few hints of zesty tropical fruit, too.

Palate: The Sherry cask-matured whisky really starts to take control on the palate, with milk chocolate and rain notes developing at its core. Lemon zest and shortbread.

Finish: A lengthy finish, boasting caramel and rye bread.

Distillery Information

The BenRiach distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in the Speyside area of Scotland. It is currently owned by Brown-Forman Corporation after being purchased on 1 June 2016 as a subsidiary from the BenRiach Distillery Company Limited, formed by two South African funding partners, Geoff Bell and Wayne Keiswetter, and Scotch whisky expert Billy Walker.
