Regarded by many as the greatest of all Barolo winemakers, Aldo Conterno sadly passed away in 2012, but his legacy lives on. Arising from the privileged Bussia de Monforte d`Alba cru, the 1996 Cicala Barolo suggests aromas of crushed fruits, mushrooms and earth. The palate is joyful but focused, revealing notes of herbs, liquorice, dried rose petals and a distinctive mineral edge.
