Part of Jefferson's superb Presidential Select series, this is an impressive 20-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon whisky, sourced from a distillery that has not been named. 20 years of maturation is rather a long time for bourbon, and this one has no shame in showing off its age.

Jefferson's 20 Year Old Presidential Select Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Oak spice prickles through thick layers of caramel, vanilla and honeycomb. A little leather lingers underneath.

Palate: Touches of dark fruit and orange zest complement more lush toffee sweetness, stem ginger in syrup and baking spice.

Finish: Warming oak, dark chocolate and butterscotch remain.

Distillery Information

Founded in 1997, Jefferson’s is the brainchild of Trey Zoeller and his father Chet, a famed bourbon historian. They were continuing a family tradition that goes back to Trey’s 8th generation grandmother who was arrested in 1799 for the “production and sales of spirituous liquors.” To personify the brand, they chose Thomas Jefferson—known for his curiosity and experimental spirit. This is a mindset to which Trey has dedicated himself, pushing the boundaries of the definition of bourbon. Upholding tradition, yet always discovering new possibilities.
