Glen Elgin 2008 16 Year Old Single Cask #800178 Tawny Port Finish Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML

Traditional worm tubs are still used to cool the spirit produced. The resulting character of the whisky is full-bodied, mellow with a honeyed sweetness. As much of the spirit made goes into blending the Glen Elgin 12 year old is the only official bottling.

Nose: Very elegant and precise aromas.

Palate: The palate is very powerful and complex. Smooth texture.

Finish: The finish is quite unique, rich and long lasting.

Distillery Information

The Glen Elgin distillery was built by William Simpson and James Carle in 1898. in 1936, the distillery was purchased by Scottish Malt Distiller, a subsidiary of The Distillers Company. The whisky produced started to be used in White Horse blends and since 1977 in single malt whisky.
