The current Ardbeg distillery was founded in 1815 by John MacDougall. This is the fourth best selling Islay malt in the world. This charming gift pack includes a 70cl bottle of Ardbeg 10 Year Old with a 5cl miniature of Ardbeg Uigeadail, voted the favourite Ardbeg expression of the 10,000 member-strong Ardbeg Committee.

Nose: Tarry ropes, smoked fish and peat. Smoky fruits, lemon and lime.

Palate: Oily and smoky peat with hints of liquorice and cracked black pepper.

Finish: Long with deep smoke and a suggestion of toasted almonds.

Distillery Information

Ardbeg Distillery, which is situated on the southern coast of Islay, was founded in 1815 by the MacDougall family. Once the peated barley arrives at the distillery, it is milled and mashed with water sourced from Loch Uigeadail, which is situated approximately 3 miles away from the distillery.
