Rare Perfection 12 yr old Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey is a Cask Strength with very little filtering. The distillers screen for larger particles, never chill-filter, and go for flavor over clarity. Rare Perfection whiskeys can be a little cloudy at times, but that’s what unfiltered whiskey looks like! The cloudiness comes from invisible baby flavorbombs called esters, minuscule fatty acids the difference between good whiskey, and big, rich Kentucky Bourbon, that mouth coating, keep reaching for your glass stuff.

Nose: It has very pleasant and lovely aromas.

Palate: The palate is an explosion of delicate flavors, nice and delightful mouthfeel.

Finish: Long, delicate and complex.

Distillery Information

The Exceptional series by Sutcliffe & Son, a subsidiary of US producer Craft Distillers, consists of three expressions: The Exceptional Blend, Grain and Malt, of which several editions have been released over the years. The editions are designed to vary from batch to batch, with no two the same owing to the variety of whiskies and casks used. Although each is bottled without an age statement, the constituent whiskies are listed on the back of each label.
