This single cask comes to us from family-run indie bottler Hunter Laing & Co. Specially selected and bottled for the Heritage series in the Platinum Old & Rare Selection, this expression was distilled at Tormore in Speyside in 1988. Matured for more than three decades, it has been bottled at a natural cask strength of 49.9% abv free from all chill filtration and artificial colouring. Just 288 bottles have been produced of this limited edition.

Nose: This amber coloured whisky matured in an Oloroso sherry butt has lashings of hazelnuts, coffee, chocolate and tobacco on the nose.

Palate: Spicy and nutty on the palate with a touch of toffee.

Finish: A long, rich, peppery finish.

Distillery Information

Tormore distillery is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery located approximately 1 km south of the River Spey. Its water source is the Achvochkie Burn. The Tormore is one of the younger Scottish whiskies, the distillery construction began in 1958 and was completed in 1960. It was the first new distillery to be built in the country in the 20th century.
