This single cask Chichibu from the Ichiro’s Malt series was released as a Mitsukoshi Isetan exclusive. It was matured in a first-fill bourbon barrel and bottled at cask strength, resulting in deep, fruity and fresh characteristics. Only 80 of this outstanding dram were produced.
Chichibu 2012 Single Cask #1965 Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: The aromas have alight fruit notes with malt and spice.
Palate: Smooth and soft with good sweetness and winter spice.
Finish: Finish is long, spicy and smooth.
Distillery Information
Chichibu distillery is a Japanese whisky distillery. Founded in 2004 by Ichiro Akuto, and operational from 2008, it was the first new Japanese distillery since 1973. It is located at Chichibu, a city in Saitama Prefecture, Japan.
