Glen Scotia | 12 Year Old | Classic Campbeltown | Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 2025 Edition | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Fresh sea air mingles with honeyed vanilla and delicate tropical fruits.

Palate: Layers of caramelized sugar and tangy citrus evolve into vibrant pineapple, all framed by subtle toasted oak.

Finish: Long and warming, with gentle spice - cinnamon and nutmeg - and a lingering coastal impression.

Distillery Information

Glen Scotia (originally known simply as Scotia) was founded in 1832 by Stewart & Galbraith in Campbeltown, on Scotland’s Kintyre Peninsula. Over its long history it has survived periods of decline, closures, ownership changes, and the contraction of Campbeltown’s whisky industry; yet it remains one of only three active distilleries in that once-booming whisky region. Throughout its existence, Glen Scotia has preserved many of its original features: the mash tun, still room, and dunnage warehouse - some of which date back to the 1830s - still form part of its working layout. In its more recent history, Glen Scotia has passed through multiple hands. In 1994 it was acquired by Glen Catrine (later part of the Loch Lomond Group). Under the stewardship of Loch Lomond Group, the distillery has benefitted from investment, refurbishment, expansion of warehousing, and a renewed focus on brand identity.
