Detailed Description
Detailed Description
This Pinot Noir has a ruby red color with purple hues. The nose opens with scents of red fruits such as black currants and blackberries, then gives way to notes of cloves and pepper. The taste is characterized by its freshness and finesse. The lively and supple attack reveals a perfect harmony between the tannins of the wine, present from its youth, and the tannins of the wood. The long, elegant and meaty finish takes you on a journey and makes you want to discover this unique parcel of land clinging to the mountains.
Producer Information
Domaine Jean-René Germanier is located in the hamlet of Balavaud in Vétroz in the canton of Valais and covers 60 hectares in AOC Valais. The 40-year-old vines on average benefit from state-of-the-art viticulture that respects the environment. Gilles Besse, the associate oenologist believes that everything happens first in the vineyard. For this reason, he works with the most total respect for his land by sublimating the most beautiful indigenous grape varieties of the region (Fendant, Petite Arvine, Humagne, Cornalin, Syrah and many others...) thus expressing the ultimate quintessence. of this very particular micro-climate: Almost southern sunshine, cool temperatures and protected from icy winds thanks to the imposing alpine massifs. To achieve constant improvement, Jean-René and Gilles have also chosen to reduce the yields of their vines in order to obtain more concentrated wines. Gilles Besse is a curious man who is always working to improve and test new blends. Finally, we will end with a quote from Jean-René Germanier which perfectly sums up the philosophy of the estate: "a winemaker must distinguish himself not by a prestige cuvée produced in confidential quantities but by irreproachable quality across the entire range".
