Detailed Description

Octomore 09.3 Dialogos is an "uber-provenance" single malt release. The barley used -- the Concerto variety -- is from one field (Irene's Field), one farm (Octomore Farm), and one vintage (harvested in 2011). The yield was 52 tonnes which, after distillation, resulted in 134 casks. The peat level is slightly lower than the other Dialogos releases at 133 ppm. Aged for a total of five years, the breakdown is as follows: 25% 1st fill ex American whiskey casks, 25% 3rd fill virgin oak, 20% 2nd fill Rivesaltes wine casks, 20% Syrah wine casks, and 10% 2nd fill bourbon casks. Bottled at 62.% ABV without added color or chill-filtration. This is a limited release of 18,000 bottles.

Nose: Malted barley and Horlicks with black tea, heather smoke and golden syrup.

Palate: More golden syrup, smoked tea and malted barley with fruity pear and peach melba atop sea spray and heather.

Finish: Smoky with toasted oak and rye bread.
