Distillery Information

Maker's Mark is a renowned bourbon whiskey distillery located in Loretto, Kentucky. Established in 1953 by Bill Samuels Sr., the distillery is famous for its smooth, wheated bourbon and its distinctive red wax-sealed bottles. Unlike traditional bourbons, Maker's Mark uses red winter wheat instead of rye, giving it a softer, sweeter flavour profile with notes of caramel and vanilla. The name "Maker's Mark" was inspired by the tradition of craftsmen leaving a personal mark on their creations, symbolised by the iconic seal.
