Wild Turkey Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey

Wild Turkey 81 Proof was created by Associate Master Distiller Eddie Russell. For a spicy kick, Eddie uses the Wild Turkey famous high-rye mash bill. He then ages the whiskey for 6-8 years, longer than any other whiskey in this "weight class", in hand selected American oak barrels with the famous #4 "alligator char" to get the most flavor from each barrel.

Nose: Rich aromas of vanilla and big, broad spice.

Palate: Flavours of vanilla and big, hints of rye toast with a light smokiness.

Finish: Smooth finish.

Distillery Information

In 1869, the Ripy Brothers started distilling on Wild Turkey Hill near Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Their early days went well and their Bourbon — Ripy Brother Bourbon — was selected to represent the State of Kentucky at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893.
