Gallo Family Vineyards is a brand of California table wines produced by E. & J. Gallo – the largest family-owned winery in the United States. For four generations, the Gallo family has been making everyday wines at affordable prices, offering a full range of varietal and blended wines from a wide range of grape varieties, including Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Grenache, Pinot Grigio and Muscat. The Gallo brothers, the sons of an Italian immigrant, started the Gallo winery in 1933 following the repeal of Prohibition. The company grew exponentially over the next 80 years, and today is one of the largest wine firms in the United States, exporting wines around the world. E. & J. Gallo is headquartered in Modesto, California, and oversees a number of famous value brands, including Barefoot, Carlo Rossi and Apothic. Gallo also owns numerous, more prestigious, labels including Clarendon Hills in Australia, and Orin Swift in California. The Gallo Family brand itself has a wide range of wines, from the standard, value offerings of still and sparkling wines to more unusual products like the Spritz series – wines flavored with fruit including pineapple and passionfruit. The brand's wines are bottled in a range of sizes including four-packs of 187ml bottles, standard 750ml bottles and magnums.
