Detailed Description

Created in partnership with 2011 Open Championship winning golfer Darren Clarke, this 19-year-old single malt from Loch Lomond has been matured in American oak casks from the distillery's onsite cooperage and bottled as part of the Open Course Collection from Loch Lomond Whiskies. This is the second release in the series from Loch Lomond, the official Spirit of the Open, and it bears the signature of Mr Clarke who worked with Master Blender Michael Henry to craft the expression.

Nose: Tropical fruits.

Palate: Rich and complex with honeyed sweetness.

Finish: Refreshing and fruity.

Distillery Information

Loch Lomond Distillery was commissioned by the Littlemill Distilling Company in 1964 with first distillation in 1966. In 1984, the distillery closed - or fell silent, to use the traditional term. Happily though, Alexander Bulloch and the Glen Catrine company acquired the business and resumed malt production in 1987. Grain whisky production began in 1993 and two new malt stills were added in 1999.
