      Producer Information

Damilano Azienda Agricola is an Italian wine producer, located in the La Morra district of Barolo. There is a range of wines within the portfolio, but Damilano is particularly known for its Nebbiolo-based red wines. The flagship is the Cannubi 1752 Riserva, from an old vine plot in the famous Cannubi vineyard. It is fermented for 20 days and left on the skins for a further month, before five years of maturation in large oak vats and a further two years in bottle. The estate comprises 53 hectares (131 acres) of vineyards, including plots in four of the Barolo Cru vineyards which make four single-vineyard wines: Cannubi, Brunate, Cerequio and Liste. In addition, Damilano produces Lecinquevigne, a Barolo from vineyards in five different towns around the region. Outside of Barolo, the range also includes Nebbiolo d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba and Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Asti, Langhe Arneis, Rosato, Moscato d'Asti, Barolo Chinato and Grappa di Nebbiolo di Barolo. The Damilano family business dates back to 1890 when Giuseppe Borgogno, the great grandfather of the current owners, first began to produce estate wines. The vineyards were then developed further by his son-in-law, Giacomo Damilano. Production today totals around 320,000 bottles per year.
