The pursuit of excellence combined with a strong entrepreneurial spirit quickly increases the notoriety of its liqueurs. ​ In 1944 the company headquarters was bombed and the Pilla Brothers were forced to transfer the distillery to the island of Murano. The post-war period represents a very difficult moment of recovery, aggravated by a change in consumption and by an increase in competition. ​ However, the Distillery found support in the Zarri-Fini family, originally from Bologna, who acquired it in 1954.
