Another secretive Speysider from That Boutique-y Whisky Company! This one is a 25 year old single malt from a different Speyside-based distillery to Speyside #1, and it's packed to the brim with butterscotch richness, honeyed deliciousness and general mysteriousness. Batch 1 is a release of 2,415 bottles. ‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

That Boutique-y Whisky Company Speyside #2 25 Year Old Batch #1 Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 500ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Through estery malt, candied fruit and nutty almond oil there’s barley sugars and a hint of Turkish delight. A rich drying sensation from ginger and cinnamon develops as touches of lemon citrus and white oak influence emerge.

Palate: A silken palate begins with praline, hazelnut and vanilla essence. Through subtle cedar, honey, dried apricot and maybe even a hint of rancio comes prickles of gingerbread, dark caramel and warming oak.

Finish: Long, rich and slightly peppered, with a hint of salted toffee below.

Distillery Information

The Speyside distillery is a Scotch whisky distillery near the hamlet of Drumguish in the Speyside region of Scotland, close to the village of Kingussie. It currently produces the SPEY single malt, BEINN DUBH Single malt and BYRON'S Hand crafted gin. The distillery was originally founded from an old Barley Mill built in the 1760s. Purchased in 1962 by George Christie it was built by hand by George Christie and a stone mason Alex Fairlie over the next 2 decades, and was finished in 1987. It took another three years until whisky production started in 1990.
