Dried & malted grains are milled, exposing the starches within. Then they add water, cooking the mash in order to convert those starches to sugars. Yeast is then added to the wort in fermenting tanks, starting the fermentation process that converts the sugars to alcohol, and turns the wort into beer. This beer is then distilled. The resultant spirit is then transferred to charred new American Oak barrels, where it matures from 6 months to 2 years or more. Before bottling the spirit is filtered and brought to proof with purified oceanic water. The Rod & Hammer Slo Stills Cask Bourbon Whiskey is an uncut and non-chill filtered bourbon that's bottled straight from the barrel at 112 proof. It's crafted with a mash bill of 55% corn, 35% rye, and 10% malted barley. The expression spends 2 years in new American white oak barrels, resulting in a bold whiskey with gentle smoke, oak, vanilla, and caramel notes, with just the right amount of sweetness and warmth.
