Detailed Description

Distilled at Speyburn in 2006, this single cask expression was matured in a single sherry butt for 12 years before bottling in 2018 as part of Hunter Laing's First Editions series. Presented free from chill-filtration and colouring at a strength of 46% abv, only 698 bottles have been produced.

Nose: Chocolate and plums with a dollop of vanilla ice cream.

Palate: Sweet and fruity with caramelised pear and red berries.

Finish: Long and lingering with a gentle spice.

Distillery Information

The distillery was designed by Charles Doig and was founded by John Hopkins in 1897. Due to space limitations the distillery was built up through trees and drum malting’s rather than floor malting’s were adopted. The distillery in now owned by Inver House Distillers.
