Indie Caol Ila from the Auld Goonsy’s Malt range! Distilled on Islay in May 2008, it rested in a single hogshead cask for 12 years before bottling in September 2020. A limited 291 bottles were released at cask strength, a generous 58.2% ABV.

Nose: Burnt teriyaki sauce, whiffs of peat smoke, black pepper and vanilla ice cream.

Palate: More smoky sweetness, with barbecue sauce, smoked meats, and creamy malt.

Finish: Oily barley, and another crack of toasted black pepper.
