It is most famous for its Sangiovese-based wines under the Campogiovanni and Il Grigio labels, and its Vigorello cuvée, which is reckoned to be the first example of a Super Tuscan. It is sourced from three parcels on the Castelnuovo Berardenga estate in Chianti, and is typically a blend of 50 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 45 percent Merlot and 5 percent Petit Verdot. The Campogiovanni Brunello di Montalcino wines come from an estate of the same name, purchased by Agricola San Felice in the 1980s. It covers 65 hectares (160 acres) on the southwestern side of the Montalcino hill. The Il Quercione Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is only made in the best years from the 2.5 hectare (6.2 acre) Il Quercione vineyard, and is aged first for 24 months in 500 liter French oak barrels, and then for an additional 36 months in bottle. The generic Brunello is aged for three years in oak and a year in bottle before release. San Felice's Montalcino portfolio also includes the IGT Toscana Arkeos – a blend of Pugnitello and Sangiovese. The former is an extremely rare variety which was initially planted in the estate's experimental vineyard before being planted on a commercial level in 1998. A Rosso di Montalcino and a Grappa di Brunello round out the Campogiovanni lineup. San Felice also makes a range of wines in the Chianti Classico DOCG area. The Il Grigio Chianti Classico Gran Selezione (first produced in 2014) is sourced from three vineyards, and is aged for 24 months in Slavonian oval casks and 500-liter French tonneaux. The Il Grigio Riserva comes from a broader selection of estate vineyards. It spends two years in oak and one in bottle and has less barrel aging. Both wines are made predominantly from Sangiovese, with a small portion made up of lesser-known local varieties. Poggio Rosso and the San Felice Chianti Classico complete the estate's Chianti Classico offerings. In addition to the DOCG wines, San Felice makes a broad selection of IGT wines in all three colors, including varietal Pugnitello, Chardonnay and Vermentino wines. These wines are sourced from vineyards in the Maremma as well as the two principal estates. A pair of Vin Santo wines are also produced.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0050/2395/7103/products/2_e4c749ad-e851-4d7d-bae0-02af3916d00b.png?v=1677741415
2021-tbilvino-saperavi
2021 | Tbilvino | Saperavi

Red Wine: 2021 | Tbilvino | Saperavi

Made in a fruit-forward style, this wine highlights the grape's typical floral aromas, alongside bold flavours of forest fruits. Its products are known, appreciated and trusted in more than 30 countries around the world. Experienced winemakers, a variety of local grape types and a combination of traditional techniques with new technologies are what makes the company able to offer wine lovers a high quality product and a variety of choices. The history of Tbilvino dates back to the last century. In 1962, the largest wine factory was opened in Georgia, which soon acquired a significant place on the market and gained international recognition. Since 1999, the company has been led by brothers – Zurab and Giorgi Margvelashvili. New administration began a completely new stage in Tbilvino’s history. Modern philosophy of wine production was introduced and the main idea of the philosophy became a consumer with individual desires and different taste. Reconstruction of Tbilisi winery was completed in 2008. The building was fully renovated and equipped with modern technologies. During the same year, Tbilvino obtained ISO 22000 and ISO 9001 certificates and, as a result, became a member of the Certified Business Academy (ACB). In 2020, for the first time in the history of Georgian wine, Tbilvino Saperavi wins the status of the champion red wine at the International Wine Challenge ( IWC London). Tbilvino has received a great deal of international recognition and has won numerous prices in a number of international competitions, such as Decanter London, IWSC, IWC, Mondial, Berlin Wine Trophy and more.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0050/2395/7103/products/64_714d944b-132a-4af9-8328-105c4c6fed39.png?v=1677803917
santo-wines-vinsanto-half-litre-nv
Santo Wines | Vinsanto (Half Litre) - NV

Dessert Wine: Santo Wines | Vinsanto (Half Litre) - NV

Amber colour. The Castiglione reveals generous richness and concentrated cherry fruit with dark saturation and good structure that comes from the thicker skins developed on Nebbiolo grapes this year. It concludes with a salty mineral note that adds focus and elegance.

James Suckling: Extremely perfumed with hibiscus, flowers and watermelon with some fresh cherries. It is particularly known for its range of single-vineyard Barolo wines, its Barberas, and also its association with the Arneis variety. The range-topping Barolo Riserva Villero has gained numerous awards and high ratings, with the 2007 vintage receiving a perfect 100-point score from Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate. The estate produced its first wines under the family name in 1919, and was one of the first to export Barolo wines to the USA. In the 1950s, Alfredo Currado (who married into the Vietti family) took over production and became one of the first in Barolo to release single-vineyard wines. He is also regarded as the 'Father of Arneis', having reinvigorated interest in this near-lost variety in the late 1960s. The Vietti example is an elegant, unoaked wine with floral and citrus hints. Vietti makes a range of wines from the area: the Arneis, a Moscato d'Asti, Dolcetto, five Barbera wines (three Barbera d'Alba and two Barbera d'Asti), a Nebbiolo, a single Barbaresco and six Barolos. Most of the grapes for these wines come from sandy-chalky-clay vineyards in Castiglione Falletto. Three of the single-vineyard wines, including the Villero Riserva, are traditionally styled and aged in large Slavonian oak vats, while the slightly more modernist Brunate and Lazzarito wines are partially aged in French oak as well.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0050/2395/7103/files/72_e168ad51-4754-4942-aae2-d3935ee1b05f.jpg?v=1710692242
