It farms 10 hectares (25 acres) of vineyards in 18 different appellations in the Côte de Nuits. Lécheneaut also grows small amounts of Chardonnay and Aligoté within its portfolio.The domaine was founded at the end of the 1950s by Fernand Lécheneaut with a little more than 2ha (5 acres) of vineyards in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis. During its early years, the domaine sold bulk wine to négociants. In the 1980s, Fernand's sons Philippe and Vincent took over and in 1987 began expanding the domaine's vineyard holdings, while beginning to bottle wines at the estate.
