The brand is one of the leading producers of American single malt whiskey, utilising a craft beer approach to make whiskey from a huge variety of malts, including chocolate and Munich malts. A brewer’s yeast is also used and all the barley comes from the US. Distillation takes place in two pot stills and classic American oak is the most popular cask choice, but there’s plenty of experimentation taking place at Westland.
