As a Straw Wine, this is made following a traditional winemaking process whereby the hand-harvested grapes are left to desiccate outdoors in the shade for 16 to 30 days, concentrating the sugars, acids and flavours.With 8.5% abv and 330g\/l residual sugar, the palate reveals complex layers of sun-dried apricots, limes and a distinct pithiness, with saline nuances and an intense velvety mouth feel. The estate's company name was changed from Mullineux Family Wines in 2013 with new investment from Analjit Singh, adding 'Leeu' (meaning lion in Afrikaans) – the Sanskrit derivation of Singh.Mullineux's vineyards are planted to Syrah, Chenin Blanc, Grenache Blanc, Clairette, and Viognier.
