It is based at the closed Coleburn distillery, in the heart of Scotland’s Speyside region, ageing whisky in quality oak casks from around the world, famed for their excellent single cask bottlings such as those in the Mission series. On 19 December 2000 Murray McDavid purchased the Bruichladdich distillery, which was dormant at that time, and returned it to production, though it was later acquired by Remy Cointreau in 2012. Murray McDavid even have their own boat - that’s not something every bottler, or distillery for that matter, can shout about.
