The winery produces wines from a range of sites, mostly within the AVA, but it has also sourced fruit from the Sonoma and Santa Barbara Counties. The label was started by Gary Farrell in 1982, just prior to the creation of the Russian River Valley AVA in 1983, producing 100 cases of Rochioli Vineyard Pinot Noir.
