The whisky takes its name from a spectacular geological formation on the Isle of Arran, where a waterfall plunges into a turbulent, cauldron-shaped pool. “Chapter III of The Devil’s Punch Bowl is crafted from a marriage of casks of whisky that were previously matured in sherry and bourbon, along with French oak barriques. In fact, it was tasted and it was decided that it was probably one of the best water supplies in Scotland for making whisky.” Situated on the Isle of Arran, Arran Distillery was founded in 1994 by Harold Currie, the former director at Chivas Distillery, and is one of the last remaining independent distilleries in Scotland.
