Sazerac de Forge XO is an exceptionally rich Cognac built from carefully selected eaux-de-vie matured in French oak, with components reaching beyond 20 years of age. The blend combines mature fruit and floral character with layers of toffee, marzipan, toasted almond and warm spice. Citrus and tropical fruit add brightness to its silky, full-bodied texture, while extended oak maturation brings refined depth. Elegant, complex and warming, it is designed primarily as a premium sipping Cognac.

Sazerac De Forge XO Cognac Tasting Notes

Nose: Toffee, marzipan and baked berries with toasted almonds, dried flowers, rose petals, vanilla and warm spice.

Palate: Silky and rich, with orange, tangerine, mango and red berries layered with caramel, vanilla, roasted nuts and peppery spice.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering citrus peel, cinnamon, soft oak tannins, vanilla and gentle spice.

Distillery Information

Sazerac de Forge & Fils traces its heritage to 1782, when Bernard Sazerac de Forge founded a Cognac house in France. The original house became an important international Cognac producer before the devastating Phylloxera epidemic of the late 19th century dramatically reduced French vineyard production. Sazerac Company later returned to Cognac and acquired Domaine Sazerac de Segonzac, reviving the historic name and bringing its Cognac heritage back into production. The modern Sazerac de Forge range focuses on carefully selected French eaux-de-vie and traditional maturation, with the XO representing the house's particularly mature and luxurious expression.
