      Detailed Description

The 2022 Millemann Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is a masterclass in tension and concentration, establishing itself as a brilliant benchmark for the legendary appellation. Handcrafted by elite consultant Pierre Millemann, this incredibly rare, micro-production white Burgundy transcends the scorching heat of the 2022 vintage to deliver spectacular vibrancy.

      Producer Information

Millemann Wines is an ultra-cult, microscopic boutique wine project based in Nuits-Saint-Georges within Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits, established in 2017 by the highly respected international oenologist and master consultant Pierre Millemann, alongside his wife Stéphanie and daughter Charlotte. Before bottling his own label, Millemann spent over two decades operating behind the scenes as a legendary advisory force for the world's most elite estates—including the iconic Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC), Domaine Dujac, and Gaja—earning a reputation alongside Jean-Yves Bizot as one of the region's finest contemporary practitioners. Operating strictly on an ultra-exclusive micro-négoce model, the family owns no vineyards but leverages their long-standing consulting relationships to source pristine fruit from legendary Premier Cru and Grand Cru parcels. Millemann enforces uncompromising viticultural standards, selecting only organic and biodynamically farmed fruit and maintaining complete control over harvest dates; if a grower fails to meet his strict specifications, he simply declines to collaborate. In the cellar, winemaking is meticulously low-intervention and parcel-specific to strip away any forced "house style" in favor of absolute terroir transparency. For his whites, such as the critically adored Corton-Charlemagne, grapes are crushed and pressed without sulfur, retaining the solids and delaying any sulfur additions until after a natural malolactic conversion to prevent trapping diacetyl compounds, resulting in massive, high-toned phenolic grip and a saline finish. His reds undergo a completely natural, wild-yeast fermentation utilizing high proportions of whole clusters (and meticulously selected stems), followed by an unhurried 18-month élevage. Production is extraordinarily scarce, often restricted to a single barrel per cuvée—including landmark expressions of Chambertin, Bonnes-Mares, Clos de la Roche, and Latricières-Chambertin—which are finished with premium extra-compressed wax caps and distributed directly to elite global collectors.
