David & Nadia is an acclaimed family-owned winery based on the Paardebosch farm in the Swartland region of South Africa, founded in 2010 by the husband-and-wife team of David and Nadia Sadie. As vital members of the Swartland Independent Producers movement, they have achieved global renown for their minimal-intervention winemaking and a razor-sharp focus on dry-farmed, low-yielding old bush vines. Nadia, a trained soil scientist, masterfully directs their biological viticulture—farming roughly 20 hectares with strict cover-cropping and no synthetic herbicides while transitioning plots toward full organic certification. In their restored 220-year-old cellar, David spearheads a purist vinification philosophy that champions cool skin soaking, spontaneous wild-yeast fermentations, high whole-cluster inclusion, and extended aging in neutral foudres and large French oak barrels with minimal sulfur. Their critically adored, texturally deep portfolio is anchored by a collection of single-vineyard Chenin Blancs—such as Skaliekop, Hoë-Steen, and Plat'Bos—grown on varied granite, shale, and schist soils, alongside their legendary white blend Aristargos, single-variety Grenache Noir, and the complex, Grenache-based red blend Elpidios.
