"The American Barrel on the nose is just straight ethanol. You really have to commit to picking up any notes at all. Likely caused to the heavy amount of sour mash corn used in the distilling. The most I can gather is some undefined spicy character & maybe walnut or some other type of nut. Flavor upfront is lightly sweetened. It has an immensely smooth finish, which is its saving grace. There is also some type of fruit on the back-end, but it vanishes so quickly I can't place it. The 43% ABV ethanol and the undefined spicy character cover it almost completely. If you just want something ultra-smooth, this is the ticket. The 43% ABV isn't a joke, this stuff has some hit."

American Barrels Small Batch Bourbon is made using an ultrasonic method that hastens the maturation process using sound waves to make chemical reactions in the bourbon occur faster than they normally would. This Kentucky Bourbon clocks in at 86 proof, distilled from a sour mash of 70% corn, 21% rye and 9% malted barley.
