A joint venture established by Vega-Sicilia and Benjamin de Rothschild (of Bordeaux's Château Clarke), Macán produces a small range of labels based solely on the Tempranillo variety. Two wines are produced under the Macán label, preserving (in the words of Vega-Sicilia) \"the Bordeaux tradition to produce a first and second wine\". Both are 100 percent Tempranillo with Macán the \"grand vin\" and Macán Clásico the second wine. The first wines under the two labels were produced in 2009 with the winery constructed in 2016.
