Throw An Epic Memorial Day Weekend Celebration, Liquor Courtesy Of Cask Cartel

Believe it or not, it’s almost Memorial Day (why are we practically halfway through the year already?!). While we may not be able to celebrate with a packed house, there are still numerous ways to enjoy the long weekend. And being that it is one of the booziest holidays in America, we thought it would only be appropriate to round up some of our all-time favorite drinks to have an epic Memorial Day celebration. Whether you are celebrating via Zoom with friends or with a cookout in the backyard, these cocktails are easy-to-make and will help you have a blast this weekend!   

Blue Hawaiian (with Bumbu The Original Rum and Tito’s Vodka)

Warm weather calls for colorful cocktails. The Blue Hawaiian not only offers a fun aesthetic, but its delicious taste is perfect for a day drinking event. It adds blue curaçao in a mixture of coconut cream, vodka, and rum for a thick, creamy, and very blue drink that is perfect for your Instagram stories. 

INGREDIENTS 

45ml Bumbu The Original Rum

45ml Tito’s Vodka

30ml Blue Curacao

60ml coconut cream

pineapple juice

soda water

flowers (for garnish)

DIRECTIONS

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the rum, vodka, Blue Curacao, and coconut cream. Shake well, pour into highball glasses, and top with mostly pineapple juice and a little soda water.

Gin and Tonic (with Empress Gin)

Sometimes all you need is a classic cocktail, and a Gin and Tonic never gets old. Not only is it super refreshing, but it is very easy-to-make and great for even a last-minute celebration. And when you use Empress Gin, you can add a splash of color to create a totally Instagramable cocktail. 

INGREDIENTS

2oz Empress 1908 Gin

3oz premium tonic water

grapefruit slice

DIRECTIONS

Fill a copa glass with ice, add Empress 1908 Gin, and pour in the tonic. Garnish with a grapefruit slice.

Spiked Pink Lemonade (with Crystal Head Vodka) 

Remember the good ole days of lemonade on a hot summer day? Nothing much has changed except that we take our lemonade spiked now.

INGREDIENTS

750ml bottle dry sparkling rosé

1 c. Crystal Head Vodka

1 can frozen lemonade

1/2 c. club soda

2 c. sliced strawberries

3 lemons, thinly sliced  

DIRECTIONS

In a large pitcher, combine rosé, vodka, lemonade, club soda, strawberries, and lemons. Stir and refrigerate until chilled or overnight.

Tequila Sunrise (with Teremana Tequila)

For all you tequila fans, this classic cocktail is a great drink to sip on during Memorial Day weekend. It is refreshing, delicious, and another one of those aesthetically pleasing cocktails that will brighten your celebration. 

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2oz Teremana Tequila

3/4 c. orange juice 

3/4oz grenadine syrup 

orange slice (for garnish)

high-quality maraschino cherry (for garnish) 

DIRECTIONS

In a highball glass filled with ice, pour in the tequila and orange juice. Slowly pour the grenadine into the glass over the back of a spoon or by drizzling it down the side of the glass, allowing it to settle at the bottom. Garnish with an orange slice and maraschino cherry.
