En 1987, Thomas E. Bulleit, Jr., cumplió el sueño de toda su vida de revivir una antigua receta familiar de bourbon al fundar Bulleit Distilling Company. Inspirado por su tatarabuelo Augustus Bulleit, quien hizo un whisky con alto contenido de centeno entre 1830 y 1860, Tom dejó una exitosa práctica legal y arriesgó todo para experimentar la vida en la frontera.
