Los orígenes de Macallan se remontan a 1824, cuando Alexander Reid estableció una destilería a orillas del río Spey en Escocia. Las instalaciones originales eran poco más que el granero de un granjero, pero con trabajo duro y dedicación, el negocio de Reid y su familia creció rápidamente.
