While the domaine itself, and the associated, eye-catching Château de Nozet in Pouilly-sur-Loire, accounts for around 10 percent of all Pouilly-Fumé production (it owns 165 hectares – 400 acres – in the appellation), the domaine also boasts numerous labels across France, Italy and Switzerland, many with international distribution. The original estate dates back to 1787, when the Comte Lafond bought the estate from the illegitimate daughter of France's King Louis XV and, to this day, the estate is owned by his descendants. Since the 1970s, however, the company has also moved into Sancerre, Chablis, Vouvray and Chinon, and now has considerable holdings across these regions.
