Alexakis works with many grape growers on the island on a contract basis. This has been innovative for the island, and has allowed farmers to invest in improvements. Much work goes into classifying small, remote mountainside plots according to terroir and varieties in order to maximise quality and blending opportunities. The large, modern, Alexakis winery also services other producers and has a storage capacity of 16 million liters.
