Here, the sedimentary sandstone soils and the cool maritime climate provide excellent growing conditions for Pinot Noir, which makes up the bulk of plantings. Pinot clones on the site include Pommard, Wädenswil, Dijon 114, 115 and 777. Chardonnay is covered by two clones: 76 and 95. Today, just under a quarter of the Shea Vineyard yield goes into the Shea label wines. The remaining fruit is sold to local wine producers, including the likes of Bergström and Ancien Wines.
