Bottles of his wines (which are increasingly rare) are much sought-after on the secondary market. The eponymous Jacky Truchot returned from French military service in the 1960s and began helping his cousin, Henri Mauffré (at what was then Domaine Mauffré or, later, Mauffré-Truchot) in the cellars of his domaine. By the early 1970s, Truchot had taken over from his cousin and the domaine was renamed J. Truchot-Martin with labels sometimes displaying \"Jacky Truchot\" although the former (J. Truchot-Martin, without the \"domaine\") was the official title. Truchot made wines at the domaine until he retired in 2005. He sold of all his holdings bar a small portion of his vines in Clos Sorbés, which he kept for his own production and consumption (the vineyard was close to his home in Morey).
