It produces a wide portfolio of wine, encompassing many styles and varieties but is best known for the varietal Viognier. The estate has numerous vineyards stretching across the Central Valley and comprises some 526 hectares (1300 acres) of cultivated vineyard in the River Junction AVA – one of California's smallest. The McManis family successfully petitioned the US government for the recognition of River Junction's appellation status in 2001 and today they remain the sole producers in this AVA. The company was founded by Ron and Jamie McManis in 1990 and today, the land is planted to a selection of red and white wine grape varieties.
