Though the estate has been in the family for six generations since 1892, the heart of the winery lies in a 33-hectare vineyard planted in 1945 by Gabriel’s visionary grandmother, Luz Pereira. These precious vines represent some of the oldest Carménère vineyards in the world; remarkably, they are 100% ungrafted and preserved via massal selection. Sheltered by hillsides in a unique microclimate that mitigates frost and captures cooling Pacific breezes, the estate produces elegant, non-interventional, and lower-alcohol wines.
