Bottled at 128.58 proof, this robust bourbon combines rich caramel sweetness with layers of vanilla, toasted oak and warming baking spices. Its high-strength profile delivers concentrated flavor and a full-bodied texture, while nine years of aging contribute depth and structure. With only 90 bottles produced for the 2024 release, this is a particularly scarce expression for collectors of distinctive Kentucky bourbon.

Rare Character Brook Hill Private Barrel 9 Year Old 'Old Lightning' Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Caramel and brown sugar lead, followed by vanilla, toasted oak, ripe dark fruit and hints of cinnamon.

Palate: Rich and full-bodied, with toffee, dark caramel, vanilla and toasted nuts complemented by baking spices, black pepper and charred oak.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering brown sugar, vanilla, dark fruit and a dry, spicy oak finish.

Distillery Information

Rare Character Whiskey Co. is an independent American whiskey company known for selecting distinctive barrels and presenting them in highly limited releases.
