Superfreak blends have been made from a small number of barrels, combining younger aged bourbon with significantly older whiskey to create a rich, layered profile. Deep caramel, dark fruit, roasted nuts, and mature oak define its style, complemented by baking spices and a robust, full-bodied texture. The “Why So Serious?” private selection with green wax appears to be a specific barrel or retailer selection, so its exact blend composition and bottling strength should not be assumed from other Superfreak releases.

Very Olde St. Nick Superfreak Bourbon Private Selection 'Why So Serious?' | (2)* Bottle Bundle Tasting Notes

Nose: Rich caramel and dark brown sugar lead, followed by vanilla bean, toasted oak, roasted pecan, and hints of dried cherry. The brand developed a reputation for unusual bottlings, limited quantities, and distinctive presentation. Preservation Distillery, established by Palatella in Bardstown, Kentucky, later provided a home for renewed whiskey production and the continuation of the brand’s legacy. Today, the operation combines carefully selected whiskey stocks with its own distilling program, maintaining a focus on small releases and the individual character of each whiskey.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0050/2395/7103/files/16_eb3e2107-03fd-404d-bbe2-d59235187dc4.webp?v=1792697020
https://caskcartel.com/products/very-olde-st-nick-superfreak-bourbon-private-selection-why-so-serious-2-bottle-bundle
