The proprietary blend includes grapefruit and lemon peels giving the gin a distinct crisp citrus flavor profile. Monkey 47 are dedicate to sourcing the finest ingredients with lemons travelling from the Sicilian Sant'Alfio community, at the base of Mt Etna. The distillery is located in The Black Forest in the south of Germany where local springs provide water for the distillation process. The high-quality water here has a low salt and mineral content to provide a soft and clean base for the steeping process. Post-maceration, a slow and controlled distillation occurs via steam extraction with a specifically designed Carter-Head still. Distillate is then placed into clay vessels for just over three months to allow for the slow integration of oxygen. Over the past decade of production, the gin collection from Monkey 47 has been well-awarded and met with high acclaim from critics and consumers alike.
