The estate was founded in 1998 and encompasses 120 hectares (297 acres) of vineyards planted to Aglianico, Müller Thurgau and Gewürztraminer. Aglianico reigns in the vineyards, with approximately 40 hectares (99 acres) dedicated to its cultivation in the volcanic soils of the commune of Venosa. The remaining 20ha (49 acres) planted here are dedicated to white grape varieties including Müller Thurgau and Gewürztraminer. Re Manfredi also owns a 6ha (15 acre) vineyard site, Serpara, in the commune of Maschito, which translates as the \"place of the serpents\". The vineyard is situated on volcanic slopes 550 meters (1805ft) above sea level and is the source of the estate's single-vineyard Aglianico del Vulture wine, Serpara.
