They’re inspired by the resourceful rascals of Speyside, the distillery workers who fashioned ‘Copper Dogs’, or bits of copper tubing with a penny soldered to one end and a cork in the other. They hid these 'Copper Dogs' in their clothing so they could smuggle out the Scotch they made to enjoy with their friends and family.
