After an experience as restaurateurs in Great Britain, in the early 1980s the decision was made to return to Italy, so it was that the couple and their children, Angelo and Elia, settled in Montalcino. The Palazzo Agricultural Company began producing wines in 1986, initially devoting itself to simpler and more immediate wines to finally get to produce the first Brunello di Montalcino in 1995, obtained from almost 10-year-old vines. Over the years, all members of the Loia-Palazzo family have been involved in the production of wine, each with a specific role. To date, the company has 4 hectares and an annual production of around 22 thousand bottles. The vineyards from which the wines of Palazzo are born are 4 hectares, located on the south-east side of Montalcino, at an altitude of 320 m.s.l.m. and soils of Eocene origin, rich in marl and limestone, particularly flourishing in mineral micronutrients. Ideal conditions to give the wines a great polyphenolic outfit, depth and complexity, especially red wines.
