Back then, Robert Reynolds invested in the Alentejo cork oak forest to supply the Port Wine industry need in the north of Portugal. For around 150 years, besides cork, the estate produced mainly livestock and a bit of olives. In 2000, Philip Mollet, current owner and manager, revolutionised the farm strategy and decided to plant vineyard. The chosen Syrah grape variety turned out to be an outstanding success in the form of the internationally acclaimed Cem Reis wine. Later, a delightful selection of reds, whites and rosés was the outcome of the Alicante Bouschet, Aragonêz and Touriga Nacional plantation in an open valley. This area of cork and holm oak forest and vineyards is ideal for relaxing in a historic area of beautiful scenery in Alentejo, Portugal.
